MOT for Health part I: Balancing Mind, Body and Soul for a Happier, Healthier You

Ideas for Lessening Stress: Jog, jump, run, swim.  Energetically banish the stress build up from your body. Have a massage every week.  Give your partner a massage every week.  Inhale aromatherapy essential oils.  Spend ten minutes a day breathing deeply.  Work in the garden; plant your own veggies and flowers.  Do something to save the planet.  Go on a beach walk.  Let the water splash on to your bare feet.  Enjoy the wind in your hair.  Say “yes” and really mean it.  Give someone you love a bear hug.  Cuddle a furry friend.  Enjoy being naked more often.  Have a pillow fight.  Laugh your head off. Fall asleep under the stars.  Smile at the sky……….

Developing awareness and inner insights brings us the wisdom to live from moment to moment.  Begin with the premise that your life is precious, that it is one continuing dynamic – changing, evolving and transforming moment to moment.  Your life, and your perception of all that it comprises, reflects the attitudes of your inner self.  Knowing this, you will start to live in a state of awareness.  It is then that you often have the wisdom and realization that all your high moments become more intense and all your low moments more bearable…….

By giving yourself an MOT on all levels, one can have an understanding of happiness and an appreciation of abundance, of feeling enriched and empowered, of being confident and strong.

You can be whatever you want to be…….Imagine yourself in 1 year, in 5 or in 10 years time; where would you like to be, with whom and doing what?     Are you working towards those goals right now or are they just hopes and wishes for the future? If your dreams feel far away or somewhat unrealistic, you can bring them into your reality right now, in this very moment by making a commitment to yourself to Change Your Life………

Positive changes always happen when we are focused and relaxed, and never when we are stressed and rushed.  When we are tense and uptight there is no time or space to embrace new ways of being in this world; it can sometimes feel as if we have to keep running at top speed just to stay in the same place.  Although most people would like to make changes in their lives, many feel that they just don’t have the time to think clearly about their problem areas, let alone to begin to sort them out.

We need Time to dream, Time to remember, Time to reach our goals, Time to be……..

MEDITATION…………..is basically an ancient technique that was revived in the second half of the twentieth century and is a method for centering yourself, re-balancing your mind and reconnecting with the essential.   It also expands your ability to concentrate, can help lower blood pressure, help reduce stress-related anxiety and can assist any creative process.

Today Meditation is used by many people to evoke peace of mind and help spark creativity as well as being used for just having quality quiet “me time”…..

DETOX………… most of the oldest religions included a yearly, monthly, or weekly cleansing ritual that aids detoxification through some form of fasting.   Fasting when done in the right way is a very healthy ritual for detoxing the Mind, Body and Soul.  There is a real value for detoxification, not only for your spiritual health, but also for physical and psychological health. You are removing toxins and poisons from your body which increase physical energy and also benefit the psyche by evoking a positive state of mind.  Used in conjunction with practices like Yoga and Meditation it is a wonderful MOT for your total well-being.
