Spain processes 314,000 tonnes of tyres, 10% more than other countries in the EU
70% of the rubber is recycled and reused and 30% is transformed into alternative fuels. Among the many applications of recycled rubber are prefab floors, pavements for children’s play areas and insulating materials. TECMA’10 in June offers people a chance to see the latest advances in the recycling industry.
The report by the European Tyre manufacturers puts Spain 10% ahead of the average for Europe in recycling used tyres, being in 5th place behind Germany, UK, Italy and France.
