Following the success of previous editions of Arte Sano the organisers are now planning another festival on San Pedro’s beautiful Paseo Maritimo. “We were last here in 2009 and had a great weekend full of music and activities,” explained Monica Bereuther, co-organiser of the event. “This year we are planning to bring the colourful world of alternative Andalucía to life for another fun weekend for all the family.” The weekend will include a diverse mix of classes, workshops and talks on subjects related to personal development, natural health, spirituality and the environment. A ‘peace tent’ will be built on the beach to host much of the comprehensive programme. Kids will also have plenty to do with a dedicated area for activities and crafts while adults can enjoy concerts by some of the coast’s favourite bands, including appearances from some of the regular faces from previous events. “This year, the festival coincides with the 10 year anniversary of La Chispa,” Phil Speirs, editor of the magazine said. “That means we are looking forward to a really special, sparky weekend.”
A dynamic and diverse market will stretch along the sea front full of unique hand made crafts, natural products, therapists, art and healthy food for visitors to enjoy. As well as the main stage area, the organisers are planning other areas including a salsa and reggae area to cater to all tastes and make the festival more diverse and colourful. Adding to the eco mix will be a solar cooking area with an exhibition of renewable energies including dehydrators, solar ovens and hydraulic ram pumps.
