For 3 days in September, Grandma Rita Pitka Bluemenstain, Alaska and Juliet Huatla of Casimiro de Jimenez, Mexico with their ambassador Jyoti (Jeneane Prevatt) offer the chance to attend this meeting to listen and learn about their ancestral wisdom, participate in ceremonies and join in their prayers.
The Grandmother’s mission statement says “We represent a global alliance of prayer, education and healing for our Mother Earth, its inhabitants, children, and for the next seven generations. We are deeply concerned about the unprecedented destruction of our Mother Earth and the destruction of indigenous ways of life. We believe that the teachings of our ancestors will light our way through an uncertain future. We promote our vision through the implementation of projects that protect our diverse cultures: land, medicine, language and ceremonial ways and through projects that educate and nurture our children.”
In the year 2012, a year of Power, in which great changes are taking place, the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers honor us with their presence on their European Tour. It is an opportunity to remember our true essence, to remember that we are part of a whole and awaken our conscience and walk on Mother Earth in a new way.
The International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers was formed in the autumn of 2004 at the retreat center “Tibet House Menla Mountain” in New York, when Grandmothers came from around the world, Alaska, North America, Central America, South America, Africa and Asia.
