100 people, 1,000 trees

For the 3rd year running Arboretum Marbella is organising a tree planting day on 7th December to plant over 1,000 indiginous plants. Under the heading ‘woods for people’ they would like to see everyone taking part in this family day out, to have the chance to plant a tree in this special public park dedicated to environmental education.

For the 3rd consecutive year Arboretum Marbella is organizing a special event on December 7 to start the 2013-2014 season by planting over 1,000 native trees and shrubs in just one day.

Arboretum Marbella is the People’s Forest and so everyone is welcome to take part in this planting event. By taking part, people will be making a contribution to this incredible public park which is conserving Malaga’s native species of trees and plants and offering environmental education to all.

Last year more than 374 participants attended the event, planting more than 3000 trees, shrubs and grasses and sharing an unforgettable day.

11.00 – Registration and Introduction
12.00 – Digging and planting
14.00 – Kids’ Workshop (Nendo Dango) & an educational puppet show for smaller children
15.00 – Ends with a group photo

The organizers are looking for support from individuals, businesses and press to share this news and gather more than 100 people for this special day.

Using social networks; Facebook (Arboretum Marbella) and Twitter (@ ArboretumMrblla # 100personas1000arboles) they want to raise awareness of the project as well as achieve their objective of bringing together 100 people to dig 1,000 holes to plant 1,000 trees, plants and shrubs.
