Eco fairs are becoming a well established part of the Andalucian landscape and one of the more established and longer running fairs is held each year in the city of Málaga. Natura Málaga stands out as a reference point for professionals and public alike, bringing together the organic, health and wellness sectors under one roof at the city’s Palacio de Congresos. Now in its fifth year, the fair will be held over the weekend of May 17 to 19, and will build on last year’s success of nearly 100 stalls and over 100 activities throughout the weekend with over 6,000 people passing through the doors. The focus of the fair is to develop awareness of environmental conservation, sustainable use of natural resources, to help people introduce the idea of sustainability into their daily lives, educate children to adopt healthy habits and encourage people to buy organic produce. This is achieved though various thematic areas like Mercado Natura allowing organic producers to bring their fresh goods to market and EcoKids for the little ones to learn these values in a playful environment. A busy programme of workshops and talks helps to bring this message home to people through the expertise of key note speakers, and the food hall allows visitors to sample organic dishes.
