Throw away your negative thoughts, literally

If you write your negative thoughts on paper and then throw them away, they will also disappear from your mind. Conversely, if you write some thoughts down on paper and keep them in your pocket, you’ll be more likely to have them present in your daily life.
All this may seem silly, but it really works. This has been highlighted by a study at Ohio State University with the support of the University of Madrid.
Some types of psychological therapy use variations of this method to try … Continue reading

Are you running on autopilot?

Do you run on autopilot ?
One of the things that happens to us more often is that we run on “autopilot”. This means that we do things without thinking, like have always done them, clinging to the same thoughts and habits. It is running in a routine, as if we were an automaton programmed to run the same program over and over again. But therein lies a problem: if we are hoping for a different outcome. The worst thing is that it is extremely easy … Continue reading

Your life is in your hands

Through the ages we have incorporated the conscious and unconscious into different structures of thought, ideologies, mandates y any amount of diverse forms of thought, that have molded our lives today.
Nothing fortuitous exists in life. “Everything that has always happened is a reflection on some form of guideline that we have within us.”
It is called “Freewill” meaning that we can choose our own thoughts.
You yourself can choose if you wish to think you have a “miserable” life or a “happy” life; whichever you choose … Continue reading

Transformation

Sophia Rendu continues her series of inspirational articles leading us into the new year with some thoughts on transformation.
If he doesn’t allow his transformation into a butterfly, then he will always think of himself as a caterpillar. This young wormy creature, after munching his way through several kilos of leaf reaches a stage in his evolution where it is time to wrap up into a silky mesh and prepare for the unexpected. At first the caterpillar resists his total make over, like he wants to … Continue reading
Natural conscious food

If we talk about health and the strategies that we have to care for and improve it, the circle starts and finishes at the mouth, particularly with regards to the food we choose to put in it. A conscious diet, with all that implies, is an essential part of any strategy of wellbeing.
In the years that I’ve cultivated a healthy eating style, I have taken the time to travel and experience different ways, but have not really found one in particular that I can declare … Continue reading

Philosophical counselling: a guide to life

Philosophical counseling was born as an alternative to the psychological and psychiatric therapies that many people use. It is a guide to life based on the method of dialogue used by the Greek philosopher Socrates and other philosopher-shamans from different schools of philosophy in ancient Greece. The technique is aimed at people who do not have mental illnesses but are held back by existential conflicts that they need to reflect on and discuss to find a solution.
It is important to note that the client does … Continue reading

Coaching from the heart
Life Coaching encompasses many different approaches and techniques that are all aimed at improving a particular area of someone’s life, often somewhere that they feel that they have got stuck in.
More often than not these areas are related to work or relationships, situations where it is easy to get caught in a circular conversation in the mind that ends up going nowhere. And even in good, open and communicative relationships there are often subjects that are not easy to discuss and again the mental loop … Continue reading
